This week’s slow jam is a “2 fer”! Here are two great versions of the classic Herbie Hancock tune, “Butterfly” which was released on the album Thrust in ’74. The folllowing two clips are of Gretchen Parlato on “One Shot Not” with an amazing band (M’eshell and Pino, to name a few) and the other is a late 70’s release from the album called Butterly that Herbie and Japanese artist, Kimiko Kasai collaborated on together. Each of theses artists honour the original and bring a special energy, magic and groove to their versions.
