It’s official. Coastal Jazz has just announced that Snarky Puppy is coming back to Vancouver as part of the Jazz Fest’s Vogue Series this year! Whether you are a long time fan or new to the band’s music there is no denying that their blend of jazz, funk, gospel, soul and world music is infectious and exciting. Snarky Puppy is a collective of musicians from Dallas and New York with thrilling arrangements and incredible focus, playfulness and musicianship. They categorize their sound as “music to move the brain and booty”. Check out one of my favourite tracks from their 2013 release “Family Dinner, Vol.1” featuring vocal veteran N’dambi.
