Today’s Sunday Slow(ish) Jam features the spunky and creative Scott Amendola Band. A little bit funky, a little bit sideways and outside the box, always stretching and searching, This band is bold and fearless. It features some really great musicians such as Jenny Scheinman (Bill Frisell) on violin, Nels Cline (Wilco) on guitar and lapsteel, Jeff Parker (Tortoise) on guitar and John Shifflett on bass and of course Scott Amendola on drums, percussion, loops and other electronics.
Scott Amendola is a flexible and fluid musician. You can hear it in his playing and in his ability to hang in any musical situation, with any type of musician. Sometimes navigating the free and improvised musical landscapes can leave audiences lost, however, his compositional skills and musical instincts never seem to alienate or abandon his listeners. Amendola’s music is personable and curious, probably just like him!
